Product Description:

Energy Factors is a dietary supplement that supports energy, helps to increase mental clarity, physical endurance, immunity and recovery from fatigue or exhaustion. Energy Factors is a combination of powerful ingredients that work synergistically to enhance the overall level of energy, boost the work performance, and fight overall weakness and fatigue. These ingredients are: Rhadiola Rosea, Ashwagandha, Holy Basil, Astragulus, and Maca Root.

The role of key ingredients:

Rhodiola Rosea: is a remarkable herb that has a wide and varied history of uses. It is thought to strengthen the nervous system, enhance immunity, elevate the capacity for exercise, enhance memory, and improve energy levels. It has long been known as a potent adaptogen. Adaptogens are substances that increase the body's overall resistance and help to normalize bodily functions. It is a popular plant in traditional medical systems in Eastern Europe and Asia, with a reputation for enhancing work performance, eliminating fatigue, and preventing high altitude sickness. Studies suggest that Rhodiola Rosea has been shown to shorten recovery time after prolonged workouts, to increase attention span, memory, strength, and anti-toxic action. Rhodiola Rosea extract increases the level of enzymes, RNA, and proteins important to muscle recovery after exhaustive exercise. It also stimulates muscle energy status; glycogen synthesis in muscles and liver; muscle protein synthesis and anabolic activity.

Ashwagandha: is often used as an “adaptogen” to help the body cope with daily stress, and as a general tonic. It is known for improving thinking ability, decreasing pain and swelling (inflammation), and preventing the effects of aging.

Holy Basil: is classified as a premier "adaptogen," an herb that can normalize body processes and restore overall health by maintaining body systems. Adaptogens support our systemic response to stress and give us stamina. For over five millennia, Holy Basil has been used to restore imbalances of the body and mind. Now scientific research has documented that Holy Basil may do this by decreasing levels of cortisol, a hormone produced and secreted by the adrenal glands. Nicknamed the "stress hormone," cortisol production increases in response to chronic stress. Cortisol triggers the body to make glucose from amino acids, which causes blood sugar to rise. Through normalizing cortisol levels in times of stress, Holy Basil may prevent not only the mood changes associated with stress, but also prevent the increases in blood sugar that researchers say, can contribute to numerous health imbalances affecting more than half of all Americans. Holy Basil assists with stress adaptation.

Astragalus: is also called huang qi or milk vetch. It comes from a type of bean or legume. It is used to help improve overall weakness. The herb is said to offer multiple health benefits for multiple conditions, including heart benefits. Astragalus appears to work by stimulating the immune system. It has antioxidant effects that inhibit free radical production. In the body, free radicals damage cells and are linked to many health problems associated with aging. Astragalus has been recognized for over 2,000 years in the Traditional Chinese Medical System as one of the most potent "Chi tonic herbs" available.  It is not actually an "herb", however, but the woody root of the Astragalus membranaceus plant species that is responsible for its renowned energy building properties.  It offers tremendous value as a naturally stimulating energizer and immune enhancing adaptogen. Astragalus is also referred to as Astragali radix by many herbalists and is often classified and used with other activating herbs for its energy restorative qualities. It is notably specific for building "Chi", one of the three treasures in Chinese herbalism.  Astragalus is considered a non-caffeinated herbal stimulant that simultaneously encourages a general state of tranquility and positive emotional mood. It is a particularly great herbal supplement for today's busy fast paced world as it provides the necessary restorative support to help guard against adrenal burnout and fatigue that often results from a highly active lifestyle and/or extreme levels of daily stress. Astragalus is very well known for its effects at promoting strong muscle development and general fitness to the exterior of the body, legs and arms.  It is particularly helpful for athletic training as well as strenuous physical workouts that have higher energy output and an increased demand on the muscles. Other research from China suggests that it may be helpful for lowering cholesterol in addition to improving overall heart health. It also acts as anti-inflammatory agent.

Maca: is a plant that grows in central Peru in the high plateaus of the Andes Mountains. It has been cultivated as a vegetable crop in Peru for at least 3000 years. It is a root that offers an amazing energy boost for those with low energy. Maca however, unlike coffee, offers energy in a non-caffeinated way that supports the body. Maca is a nutritionally dense super-food that contains high amounts of minerals, vitamins, enzymes and all of the essential amino acids. Maca root is rich in B-vitamins, which are the energy vitamins. Maca Root helps balance our hormones. It stimulates and nourishes the hypothalamus and pituitary glands which are the "master glands" of the body. These glands actually regulate the other glands, so when in balance they can bring balance to the adrenal, thyroid, pancreas, ovarian and testicular glands. Instead of providing hormones to the body, Maca works as an adaptogen which means that it responds to different bodies' needs individually. If you're producing too much of a particular hormone, Maca will regulate the production downward. However, if you're producing too little, it'll regulate the production upward.
